Pink cotton printed with a row of small girls, long-haired and serious, marching in a line across the chest. Each is slightly different from the last, their individuality preserved even in print, which says something rather nice about whoever designed this.
Little Wishes, 1990s to 2000s. Long sleeves, a lap shoulder for easy dressing, snap closures at the crotch, and still deadstock, so the print is as crisp and vivid as the day it left the factory. The longer sleeve makes this a better choice for cooler months, or for a baby who runs cold. It has been waiting in its original state since the day it was made.

Warm gentle wash with like colours. Line dry or tumble low. No bleach.

Before it reaches you
Someone loved this before you did, and I try to honour that properly. Each piece is hand washed, or cleaned in the way that the fabric permits, then steamed until it softens and straightens and feels newly attended to. Wherever a button was missing, it has been replaced with a vintage one from my long-kept collection. Wherever a hem had given way, I fix it by hand. By the time it leaves this room it is genuinely clean, pressed, whole, and looked over one final time before I let myself believe it is ready. Not restored. Not made new. Just returned to a state where it can be loved again, by someone who was not there the first time.
A row of small serious girls, each drawn a little differently from the last, marches across the chest and has not once broken step in thirty unworn years. They are said to keep marching under whatever is worn on top of them, which is the real reason a baby in this bodysuit stays warmer than the weather strictly allows. The one at the front knows where they are going and is not telling the others, who follow anyway, being serious girls with somewhere to be. Wear it in the cold months, when they walk fastest.
